I attended a busy and vibrant meeting in Gerrards Cross this morning as the group – Cross Reference – held a visitors day.
Many small and medium sized businesses from around the local area attended and we had a great talk from Sally Hindmarch (nee Hollander) on “How to present your 1 minute”. I am still learning the basics and continually work on improving my presentation skills.
A basic key to doing your presentation is:-
- Who are you
- What you do
- How do you do it/What’s special
- Who do you want to meet
- Who are you (again)
All good basic points on which you can build to deliver a great 1 minute elevator pitch. She also covered some practical aspects to make the stress of the situation work for you, power postures and even where to ensure you stand to talk to the whole room. Just brilliant.
