What Digital platform should you be using for business? – because I read an article from the FSB – we are members, consider why you are not! – about digital platforms – like FaceBook – and it reinforced what we in Kehorne had just been discussing that same morning.
So what was it about?
Choose the right platform for your company so that you are talking to the right people. That, in a nutshell is it.
What are your choices?
Lots to consider here – The Most popular social networks worldwide as of January 2022, ranked by number of monthly active users in 2022 from Statista:-
- YouTube
- TikTok
- Facebook Messenger
- Douyin
- Sina Weibo
- Kuaishou
- Snapchat
- Telegram
- Quora
- LinkedIn (mentioned here but not in the top 17)
So LinkedIn is not there but if you ignore it then you are at a disadvantage as it is a B2B platform and very likely where some of your market is hanging out.
Whats Important?
The most important thing is to know where your audience is. But how do you find out?
Ask them – a quick easy questionnaire with a few options might get a good response and whilst it helps you engage with them it also gets some answers. It’s a simple exercise to use Google to find out details – most of the results below came from www.omnicoreagency.com (excuse the mixing of statically metrics).
FaceBook is massive but not for the youth market,
56% of Facebook users are male, 23.8% of Facebook users are 18-24 years of age. The largest demographic group of Facebook users is between the ages of 25 and 35 years.
TikTok
57% of TikTok users are female, Roughly 43% of TikTok’s global audience is between 18 and 24 years old. 32% of TikTok users are aged between 25 and 34.
YouTube
53.9% of global YouTube users are male. 81% of U.S. adults use YouTube. 95% of 18-29 year-olds in the U.S. use YouTube. 91% of 30-49 year-olds in the U.S. use YouTube.
48.4% of all Instagram users are female 31.2% of Instagram users are 25-34-year-olds. 73% of U.S. teens say Instagram is the best way for brands to reach them about new products or promotions.
Now write something that resonates with your audience
This is probably the thing that gets to people most, but it shouldn’t because we all have things to say, opinions to express, advice to share. Writers block? Don’t think too hard, just write something, aim it at one of your clients, what was the last question you got asked? Write the answer and expand a bit, throw in a picture or a video of you telling them the answer. Don’t get too hung up on it, if you do you’ll never start. Start small and when you get better at it you can get more professional.
I hope that helps but it would be great to hear what you think. If you need help, advice or ideas – just ask, we are all here to help.
