Slough Regeneration

Slough Ice Rink

Slough Council Joint Venture with Morgan Sindall Investments Limited

I have just had an update on the Slough Regeneration from the Slough Council and their Joint Venture partners at Morgan Sindall Investments Limited.

There are four new leisure facilities either being built or recently finished (the ice rink, new Salt Hill activity centre, new leisure centre and Arbour Park). How many other councils in the UK are opening any yet alone four! This shows the council are committed to making the local environment as good as possible, making Slough a great place to live as well as work.

Housing is as important and this is being addressed as well, with many new developments already finished and some great plans in process.

Transport infrastructure is critical and always has been as Slough started as a stopping point for horse travel out of London progressing to a stopping point for trips to London and Heathrow. As such the council are well aware that commitment to Heathrow is important to the continual growth of the town, and as such they have been an ardent supporter of the Heathrow expansion.

The town centre is being developed although the plans for this are as yet a little unclear as a private developer is currently working to bring a new shopping centre into the town. This plans looks like being about 5 years away from completion, but the prospects are very exciting.

Whilst Kehorne are a small player in the local economy we are trying to add our expertise to the equation and are in discussions with local groups as to how we can best use our talents to add to the community.  We have our plans and  are looking forward to being able to launch a project in the not too distant future.
