Slough Voluntary Sector Awards 2017

Kehorne are a proud sponsor of this event – held on Friday 18th November 2017. This event was to celebrate the incredible volunteers of Slough.

With guests of honour The Mayor of Slough, Ishrat Shah and Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi, MP for Slough, the comperes for the evening were Jesal Dhokia and Ramesh Kukar from SCVS.

The SCVS Team did an amazing job of putting on a great event to celebrate the local voluntary organisations and individuals.

One of the many inspirational volunteers is Denesh Pawar – Winner of Young Volunteer award. His story is truly inspirational. As a Looked After Child himself, Denesh has chaired the Reach Out Group for children looked after by Slough for a number of years, capturing the views of Slough children looked after and to represent them at a wide range of local, regional and even national events. Denesh has blossomed into a fine young man who is able to “hold a room”.
Denesh has a sustained record of making a difference.  He has not had an easy start in life, no child comes into care lightly. He chooses to move forward, (even in his GCSE year) to help others in care to improve the experience.
