Yesterday I attended a lunch meeting hosted by Menzies LLP accountants, based in Egham, where the talk was about Xero accounting package.
These types of online accounts systems are becoming more common and useful. I still have to question the amount of money you pay – the basic £10 per month is almost useless (only 5 invoices and 5 bills – you’d have to be a really small company to keep within that) so its £22 per month (£264 a year). As a comparison, Sage still offers a desktop package for £320, as of 22/9/2017.
Whilst Xero can integrate many functions into it with the additional apps I think you have to be careful as to what you need an accounts system to do for you. Many functions may never be used, so why pay for them?
I know some excellent accountants who would give you some great advice, so if you want someone with a real accounts background (obviously not me) get in touch and I’ll point you in the right direction.
Well done Menzies LLP for the excellent event. If anyone is interested in attending their Lunch Club held in Old Windsor please get in touch with Kehorne.
