Heathrow passenger numbers up

Heathrow had a record annual figure for passengers in 2015, with a rise of 2.2pc on 2014 to almost 75m passengers.

Whilst I’m guessing that flight numbers were largely unchanged (due to the airport running at 99% capacity) this must mean the airlines are selling more tickets and must be therefore more profitable, especially as the price of fuel is low.

This would be another reason for expanding Heathrow. It is obvious that the demand is there for people who want to use this airport over others around London.

I would like to see the Government actually get on with the 3rd runway instead of putting it off until it is far too late and we lose the advantage of this amazing travel hub.
